I got asked some questions about traveling, questions you might ask before you decide to go on a big trip.

This year I traveled over 14.000 km (8700 miles) and visited 14 countries all over Europe with my van.

1. How did you come to the idea of traveling?

One of my biggest passion is photography, especially landscape photography. So you have to go out and explore new places to get some awesome shots.

2 . Was there anything you would like to know before you went on your first trip?

There are a lot of things I wish to have known before I started this trip, but there are especially 5 things I would like to have known beforehand.

  • Finding like-minded people is hard
  • Working on the road is not that easy
  • Finding a spot to sleep can sometimes take hours
  • Traveling in a van is not that cheap
  • You live in constant discomfort

You can read about those things in more detail in my last post!

3. What country do you really recommend?

I really fell in love with Norway this summer. The landscapes up there are just breathtaking. But the country which surprised me the most was Albania.

4. How did you get the money to travel?

I work as a freelancer and just need my laptop for work, so I decided to work on the road. The problem here is, that you constantly think about work and you never get really detached from it, but this was the price I had to pay.

5. How much money did it all cost, approximately?

This really depends on the country you are traveling in. For example, a Pizza and a beer costs 30€ in Norway but just 5€ in Albania. All in all, I spent like 1000€ every month.

6. What are things you really have to keep in mind and have to know?

That there is no certainty. You never know what will come next.

7. Tips for people who also want to start traveling?

Don’t plan ahead too much. If you like a place stay longer and be spontaneous.

8. How did you travel as cheap as possible?

When you travel through different countries, buy groceries in the ones where they are cheaper. When you travel for example from Sweden to Norway, do the grocery shopping in Sweden.

Take your time and compare prices and don’t spend your money on unnecessary things.

9. What are the things you really must do once?

To go on a sunrise hike with your friends and to watch a sunset with your friends

10. What place is really perfect?

The one where friends and family are!

Thanks for reading!
